Salt Water Mosquitoes in Tampa |
In the Tampa Bay area, as well as most of coastal Florida inland estuaries provide tremendous opportunities for numerous species of salt water mosquitoes. As rising tides flood inland grass flats and mangrove swamps, millions of eggs that have already been laid start the life process to adult mosquitoes. The muck marshes, inland grass flats and mangrove swamps, produce hordes of biting mosquitoes.
The problem with eradication of the saltwater species tends to be the proximity of where they lay their eggs. These areas are usually difficult to reach, making the treatment efforts of local mosquito control districts very difficult. Aerial spraying and larvaeciding efforts tend to be hit and miss because of the wide area needed to be covered as well as the density of the cover
in which the insects live and breed.
It's been our experience over the years that many of these estuary areas have been highly sought after for development of exclusive high-end neighborhoods. In this process, instead of staying away from high density mosquito populations, neighborhoods are blossoming in the midst of the blood feeding mosquitoes. How about that?
